Simple Digital Waste Transfers is our service for digital waste tracking in the UK. It allows users to create & store digital, waste transfer notes that are compliant with DEFRA's Digital Waste Tracking Service (also known as the Report Receipt of Waste Service).
Waste transfer notes created by the service can be submitted to local environmental authorities directly through the app. Usage of this feature requires registration with the digital waste tracking service, including an upfront annual payment independent of our own platform costs. Once registered, you will be able to add your API key to our app, which allows you to send your documents to DEFRA for compliance purposes.
For more information about Digital Waste Tracking, we recommend the UK Government's page here.
Some components of the app such as the ability to generate digital waste transfer note PDFs are provided to the user for free upon registration. These features are provided in good faith, but we reserve the right to investigate and act on anomalous usage patterns, including imposing rate limits or disabling/deleting related accounts.
To prevent abuse of the service, organisations using the app should not share their account access with other legal entities.
Users must not use this service for illegal or fraudulent activity. We are not liable for user misuse of the app, and will take action by disabling/deleting accounts if we find evidence of misuse.
We believe our prices are low enough that it isn't worth doing this anyway, and that our services majorly benefit from individuals having their own accounts. If you are found to be sharing accounts/subscriptions with multiple users, you will be given one chance to pay for the correct number of seats and then potentially blocked from using our service.
Under some circumstances, we may choose to disable or delete user accounts. We only plan on doing this upon user request, or when we have justification to do so.
You will lose the ability to log in and use our system. Data will usually not be deleted. A record of the account email and some digital fingerprinting data may be retained to prevent re-creating.
Users can purchase credits in £10 bundles. The default cost per credit is 10p, a £10 purchase gives the user 100 credits. Purchased credits are used when creating or revising DEFRA waste movements for the first time. A purchase of credits flags the account as having paid, which allows access to additional functionality that does not have an associated credit cost.
The most up-to-date pricing information for our app can be found on our Pricing page.
The first time your organisation interacts with a DEFRA waste movement - either by creating it as a new waste movement, or by updating a waste movement someone else created (or that was created on someone else's software), then a single credit will be removed from your account.
Subsequent updates and corrections are free, even if your organisation is operating as the carrier and receiving site.
Our system includes the ability to email other parties via our SMTP or your own. This functionality does not cost credits to use, but requires a fully registered account and a paid purchase of credits.
Our system allows fully registered users to create and download PDFs of digital waste transfer notes for free. This feature can be used to test the service and create paper waste transfer notes for your record keeping.
During our introductory period, users are able to purchase credits at a discounted rate as thanks for supporting our product. The number of credits received on purchase is multiplied up to 10x, with the multiplier being decreased every month until the final price is set on the 30th of September 2026.
During this period, usage of the service is unlimited for paid users. Any credits purchased will remain on the account, but won't be used until the introductory period ends.
